Why This Site Exists
Pleasant Hill does not keep every local record at City Hall. The Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder holds deeds, liens, and county vital records. Superior Court publishes public party and case information, while the Assessor maintains the assessment roll but does not display owner names in its online tools. Elections records follow California law, and older residents may appear in county newspapers or Historical Society collections. We organize the official search tools, office contacts, and access limits that connect these separate systems.
Resources Available Here
- Record-focused pages: public records, voter registration records, and people directories
- Custodian contacts: the Clerk-Recorder, Superior Court, Assessor, Elections Division, City Clerk, and vital-record offices
- Practical search paths: court name searches, address-to-deed research, and county newspaper or directory use
- Access boundaries: what California law permits, what remains confidential, and how to request municipal material that is not online
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately operated reference site. We are not connected with the City of Pleasant Hill, any Contra Costa County department, a California agency, a court, or another records custodian. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot retrieve, certify, or amend a government record for you
- We cannot verify that a named person currently lives in Pleasant Hill
- We cannot delete information from an official record or an outside database
- We do not provide legal advice or interpret a record for a personal matter
- We cannot promise that every portal, fee, or office detail remains current
A custodian alone can confirm, certify, or correct its record. Information found here cannot be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
